1 Trip. 1 Country. Countless Lives Impacted.
"I just cannot say enough about the work of Orbis – the model, the people, the mission. I am proud to be associated with such a remarkable organization."
Support VF (Volunteer Faculty): Dr. Martin ten Hove
Martin W ten Hove is an Associate Professor and Head, Department of Ophthalmology, at Queen’s University. He is Chief of Ophthalmology Hotel Dieu Hospital.
His main research focus is on the neural mechanisms underlying visual attention and visual processing in health and in disease. Current research projects include (1) investigating eye movement characteristics as a predictor of mild traumatic brain injury and (2) the effect of increasing attentional load on visual processing in drivers.
2012 marked the first trip Dr. Martin ten Hove made as an Orbis VF; he travelled to the Philippines on the Flying Eye Hospital. With a specialty of neuro-ophthalmology, Martin was a key member of the eye care team.
We've accomplished great things together – but there's still more to do.
