"I love to be a part of the incredible work of Orbis and the positive educational impact it makes to local programs and ultimately children's lives!"

Support VF (Volunteer Faculty): Leslie D. MacKeen

As a Medical Imaging Specialist at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Leslie is an integral part of the Orbis team. She has participated in Hospital-Based Programs in Vietnam (2010), the Philippines (2010), China (2012) and three times in Mongolia (2011, 2015 and 2016) where her focus has been in the neonatal intensive care units. There she has trained doctors and nurses how to use eye imaging technology to improve the education, screening and care for premature babies with a potentially blinding eye disease called retinopathy of prematurity.

Her participation extends beyond VF duty to Plane Pull for Sight duty, where she participated on the SickKids Ophthalmology team to pull a jet across the tarmac in support of Orbis Canada.

We've accomplished great things together – but there's still more to do.

You can help by making a donation to support our work – and you can spread the word and build awareness on social media!

Remember – It only takes $50 to save the sight of an adult and $100 to restore the sight of a child!
